Praise and Prayer Requests from Charlie Hornick, Board Member

To those of you who have supported us faithfully with your prayers,

We appreciate the love, prayers, encouragement, support, etc. that each of you have been to us in our ministry here at Frontier School of the Bible. The past few weeks have been tough ones for us, but full of blessing as well. Let us first go to some items for prayer, remembering with each request, we praise God for His faithfulness.

My (Charlie’s) mother was taken to the hospital this morning and is in ICU with trouble breathing, cellulitis in both legs and lots of swelling (she has had congestive heart problems and was in ICU back in Nov.), urinary tract infection, and a bad cough. Please keep her in prayer and my sister is lives in Okeechobee.

Our son-in-law’s sister, Brandy, passed away on Tuesday with severe liver problems. She was in a horrible motor cycle accident a few years ago and has fought a tough battle. She was only 48. Please pray for our son-in-law Cameron, our daughter and grandchildren and Cameron’s folks.

Please pray for our dear friend, Bob Campbell, whose wife of over 70 years went home to be with the Lord last evening. Erma was our secretary at Grace Bible in Parachute for a number of years as well as both Bob & Erma have been close friends and great encouragers and workers for the Lord. Also, pray for a new born, “Kylee Mae,” whose mother and grandparents are dear friends, Kylee was flown to the Children’s Hospital in Denver after she stopped breathing a short time after birth.

Sue and I both have been battling with the crud (tested negative for the flu) and have been on antibiotics. We are making slow progress. Sue still has a ways to go in her recovery. I (Charlie) also fell on the ice this past Thursday. The good news is “nothing broken,” but the X-rays showed some angry arthritis in my back, neck, and shoulder. Would appreciate prayer during this time of recovery. I should be good for Monday’s classes.

We have also been ministering to people in ministry going through some very deep waters. Please pray for us to have His wisdom and encouragement to share with and encourage them.

We praise the Lord for the ministry here at FSB. Sue and I continue to have such great opportunities to teach and minister to the students. We are also so blessed to work with the staff and faculty here that are so committed to the Lord and the welfare of the students. And what a blessing, student after student has been to us. We are so encouraged as we think of how God is working in and through the students here.  Our faculty has also had a tough month. Our dean of students’ mother passed away this week. One of our faculty members lost an aunt and an uncle within a few days of each other.

We can tell you have been praying. The Lord has certainly been working in many ways. We could sense your prayers with the recent funerals, speaking opportunities, and ministering. Our prayer for you, and may your prayer for us, also involve the following request, given so pointedly and wonderfully by the Apostle Paul in Romans 15:13,

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Again, thank you for your faithful prayers.
