A Double Prasie Report!
I wanted to send out a quick note to give you an update on the appointment we had today which was to find out the results of the bone scan that was done two weeks ago. The doctor told us that the cancer has NOT progressed more into the bone! The ongoing pain which Lisa has now is probably due to increased physical activity instead of a change in the cancer. This news was a relief. Thank you for your prayers.
Today started out extra special for another reason also. On Sunday afternoon, Ashton came to me and very dogmatically said that we needed to tell Avery to pray and ask Jesus to come into his heart.
I explained that that is a decision that each person has to make on their own and that no one can be forced into Heaven. In the end we concluded (after having our man-to-man talk), that we would pray for Avery to want to ask Jesus to forgive him and to come into his life.
Well, this morning Avery ate breakfast and then went in to see Lisa and sat with her and started to ask her several questions about if someone who does bad things will go to Heaven. (Yes, he is only 4!!!) Anyway, they talked for a while and in the end Avery said that he wanted to talk to Jesus and to say sorry and to ask Him to come into his heart.
I cannot tell you how excited Ashton was when he found out and then when he remembered his prayer from Sunday, a contented smile crept across his face like he knew a secret that no one else knew. It still overwhelms me the power of a child's prayer!
Thank you all for your support through prayer for us during this time.
