Pray for Pastor Bruce Miles
I wanted to inform the prayer chain concerning the recent blood draws that I had a few days back. The test came back and the results are sort of a mixed bag. On the positive side, my tumor markers went down from the last blood tests in December. On the negative side, the liver enzymes (which show how much stress the liver is under) doubled since December. The doctors aren’t sure why that is happening, so they want to run a larger battery of tests. I will have a Cat Scan this Thursday morning at University of Colorado Hospital. Then I am scheduled to have an E.R.C.P. exam on March 11. These two tests will determine whether there are any cancers residing in my bile ducts, or whether the bile ducts have constricted to a point that bile flow from the liver is closing off.
The doctor’s other concern is my continued weight loss. The combination of the liver disease, aggravated by diabetes, has caused me to lose thirty pounds in the last year. Again, they aren’t quite certain why this problem is progressing, but are trying different options to combat it.
I appreciate everyone’s concern, and especially your prayers. I will update you again after the future tests are completed.
